Advertising displays on utility poles in Tokyo, Japan

　Over nine days, from Saturday, November 15th to Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, we conducted a nine-day demonstration of utility pole advertising utilizing electronic paper technology in Hachioji City, Tokyo. Electronic paper maintains high visibility outdoors and consumes extremely little power, making it an extremely effective medium for disseminating information in urban spaces.

　For this demonstration, we installed test units on utility poles near Takao-sanguchi Station and Hachioji Station with the goal of attracting visitors to the local event "Hachioji Open Factory." Using the display switching function, a unique feature of electronic paper, we announced the event and introduced participating businesses.
 
　This feature allows for flexible switching of display content, enabling information to be disseminated according to local needs and circumstances. This differentiates electronic paper from traditional utility pole advertising, enhancing its value as a new information dissemination method. We will

　continue to explore new possibilities for information dissemination in urban spaces and promote this as an advanced and practical initiative aimed at creating value through collaboration with the local community.
